What is an appropriate gift to give to a parent from an adult child as a wedding gift?

They aren't registered and are both 60 years old. We have no clue what to get them and lack creativity. We need your help! What is an appropriate gift to give to a parent from an adult child as a wedding gift?
How about a gift certificate to a nice restaurant? You could also do something like a book with letters and well wishing from your family. What is an appropriate gift to give to a parent from an adult child as a wedding gift?
As they're older, they probably have the whole household necessities thing covered.

I'd think about getting them a really nice silver picture frame with their initials and the date engraved on it. If they're anything like my parents, they'd rather you didn't spend a whole lot of money on them.
what do you think pearl jewelry?
