What is the proper procedure to take an absent parent to court for back child support?

What forms do I need to complete or what exactly needs to be done by me? The other party is behind in over $5,000.00 and I've already taken them to child support enforcement a few weeks ago and they advised that they will start garnishing his wages in 30 days moving forward but said nothing about the payments he was behind. They said that that needed to be dealt with separately so now what do I need to do? Where do I need to go?What is the proper procedure to take an absent parent to court for back child support?
Ask the family court how the delinquent amount will be dealt with? They should be able to tell you if an order for additional garnishment needs to be done thru the courts. It would be best to keep this in the family court system, vs. taking him to small claims court for the matter. What is the proper procedure to take an absent parent to court for back child support?
