interesting question. What if the child is basically being held illegally since the other parent has 50% custody. Of course, the child will just want to stay with the parent who is holding %26amp; blocking them form seeing the other parent.
I personally think since the kid is under 18 years of age they cannot make that decision. It is up to the judge %26amp; the law.
Certainly an evaluation of both parents is needed to back-up why the minor doesn't want to see 1 parent. Sometimes it is simply 1 parent telling lies about the other one and now the kid has been raised by one mean and manipulating parent.
If nothing is wrong with both of them, the each parent has the right to see their child.
twelve is the age requirment and you have to go in front of a judge for a custody arrangement and whoever the child chooses to live with gets custody that's how it works in Mississippi and Alabama
I don't think they can no. If the judge asks them and they choose one the judge will probably go with the childs choice as long as the parent they chose isn't some crazy drunk. You can definetly make her go stay with her father but i woudnt
I think it's 14. My boyfriend's cousin just went through an issue with deciding where to live and his mom told me at 14 you can decide if both parents don't have any problems or anything.
I believe 13. Maybe it differs in each state.
