How will the rebate work when one parent claims a child in 2007 and another parent claims in 2008?

My husband's ex is claiming his daughter in 2007, which means she gets the rebate. My husband will claim his daughter in 2008. We shouldn't have to deal with the rebate that was given. Let me add that the ex will not willingly work to make this right; she's the type to get as much as she can.How will the rebate work when one parent claims a child in 2007 and another parent claims in 2008?
thats not really a surprise...usually ex's are ruthless and very gready! i believe that the rebate checks are going to go by this years tax claims....How will the rebate work when one parent claims a child in 2007 and another parent claims in 2008?
It will go to whoever filed with the child during 2007 I belive. But if they trade years then it only seems right to me that it should be split since we wont be getting a rebate next year.
